This year was my best christmas yet. Here’s to it never being over.

Hey everyone!

Getting excited for the holidays? I know I am! Besides the fact that I haven’t even STARTED my shopping, I’m totally ready! ☺
I’ve been doing to a lot of writing (surprise) and I wanted to share a new song with you! I wrote this one on Thanksgiving morning.
I love this time of year the most because it gives me a chance to slow down and appreciate all the wonderful things in my life. I’d be lying if I told you that I’ve never complained about my job, everyone does, right? But this time of year makes me realize how lucky I am to even HAVE a job, and a car, and a house, and a family. All the things that I become so accustomed to are actually huge blessings that I can be thankful for every day.

I know that New Years is coming up, and that’s that time when everyone reflects on his or her year. We discuss the ups and downs, the good and the bad. More importantly, we set goals. We look to the year ahead with optimism and motivation, and we list all of the things that we want to happen THIS year, that maybe didn’t last year. I hear things like “ I want to be happier” or “I want to be skinnier” or “I want to spend more time (fill in the blank).
What if this year, when you announce your New Years resolution, you name something that you would like to stay exactly the same. Pick out something from 2012 that was so amazing, you wouldn’t change a thing if you did it again.

Some people say I’m too optimistic, maybe even naïve. But think about it, what a wonderful conversation that would be. Everyone taking turns speaking of the things that are good in their life.

Consider it a challenge if you’d like. Be that person at your New Year’s party. What are you happy about? What are you thankful for? What would you never ever want to change?

That’s what this song is about. It’s called “Giving Thanks”, I hope you enjoy it.
